Latitude E7450 Touchpad issue
Hi
While using the laptop in office, every line or so that I type, my thumbs touch the touchpad and disorient the cursor, and I end up typing on the wrong line. I want to either:
1. Disable the touchpad automatically whenever the system detects an external pointing device like a mouse ,Or
2. Disable the touchpad entirely (Enable it when required)
Unfortunately this particular laptop doesn't seem to have a touchpad disable button. How do I accomplish one of the above?

Hi GUNJAN1982,
Thank you for writing to us.
You can use the + keys (together) on the keyboard to disable / enable the Touchpad.
Else you can follow the below steps to disable the Touchpad:
*Go to control panel
*Under Hardware and Sound > Dell Touchpad
*In the new window of Pointing Devices, select Touchpad and disable the Touchpad.
You will need to use a wired or wireless mouse, to enable it again.
Feel free to reach out to us, should you have any further questions.
Kindest Regards ,

I have the same laptop. Fn F5 does not turn off the touchpad. When I go to the control panel there is no "Dell Touchpad".
Other solutions please

Hi JLUMMER1,
Please download and install the following drivers:
Chipset driver:http://dell.to/1InveH7
Touchpad driver: http://dell.to/1T6r0qh
Restart the system and then try the above steps mentioned in my previous message.
Do let me know if you still face any further issue.

Ugh. This requires you to run some awful Microsoft environment. :( No thanks!
