Latitude XT2 controlpoint drivers - fingerprint reader, WVB 64

Hope everyone is well and good, working on getting to great !

Recently acquired a XT2 = laptop that converts to a tablet, it's a good and useful little computer design, really nice actually, seems very functional, the XFR fully rugged version would be the best

Well, the unit did come with COA but no installed OS, so I purchased the WVB64 OS reinstall disk along with the w7 64 for my e6400 xfr and e6420 xfr (all purchased used/refurbished)  To try and save a few dollars I did not get the drivers disk for the XT2, anyway it would have been for 32 bit, I got the 64 ot use that disk on future purchases and figured I could easily get the correct drivers from the dell site drivers section.

Could, Would someone please point me in the right direction for the 5880 whole package of needed files, Windows Vista Business 64 bit.   I have looked and worked on installing, etc for over 7hours for the correct 5880 (fingerprint reader, control vault drivers, and apps) to no avail. And have downloaded over multiple copies of files to make sure i did not get a bad download.

The site does not have good quality control on the proper drivers, unfortunately that seems to be a common problem with qc on links and such on the drivers download.  I had to get the LAN driver and others direct from the oems, the ones from the dell drivers site did not work...  It took a long time of working thru the possible downloads from the driver page to have them not work.  I would have thought LAN on motherboard drivers would be fairly standard and easy to find, they have been on HP...

Finally, all is working except the fingerprint reader and another device.

details of what has been tried so far

The device manager shows other devices needing drivers, 5880 and unknown device (think that is a usb?).  Windows driver update does not work, the files it points to do not work right.

The first package r269916 has been installed correctly.  Got that one to work using the windows installer, the direct download would not work

the updates a17 and 18 from the bang support article do not work, the firmware file 46km0 does not work, r270662 does not work

Discovered all about needing correct order, drivers, firmware, apps

however cannot get the correct firmware for WVB 64, and the the apps wil not load

46km0 will not work, the downloads from the support article "XT2 Bang 5880" do not work, I tried both versions including the windows installer

 

2)for the other problem device

windows driver update does not work, cannot id what hardware it is

I tried looking in the hardware id section of the device manager, this is what it showed:  USB\VID_1B96&PID_0001&REV_0000&MI_02  and USB\VID_1B96&PID_0001&MI_02
device object name = \Device\00000070

compatible ids = USB\Class_00&SubClass_00&Prot_00
