Lattitude D620 1600X900 resolution doesn't show up for my monitor
I've got a Lattitude D620. Just bought an HP monitor HP2009m. Monitor's max resolution is 1600X900 at 60Hz. But, in display properties, that resolution doesn't show up. Is there a chipset upgrade or something that I can do to fix this?

Hi, I know 16X9 is not standard, but I expected after loading the monitor's drivers that I'd be able to get this to work. Right now, I'm able to get 1280X720 to display which is a 16X9 ratio, so I was just hoping I could get the monitor's maximum resolution to show up.
Also, that USB external DVI video Card - are you saying that would "cure" my issue/problem?

1600 x 900 is not a standard VESA VGA resolution. Aka 16 x 9
D620 VGA is 4 x 3 ratio
Wide XGA 1366 768
Wide XGA+ 1440 900
WSXGA+ 1680 1050
WUXGA 1920 1200
WQXGA 2560 1600
1280×720
1280×800
1440×900
1600×1200

What? The D620 does has an purchase option for an expanded 1600x900 display.
Go to the Dell drivers page and enter your service tag...install the latest driver, usually the "945GM Graphics Controller" for that display...reboot...this has fixed the missing resolution in most cases, for me.

I have same problem: I have Dell D620 with Intel 945GM and I want to connect to Dell E2010H monitor, and there no choice to change resolution to 1600x900! Only 1280x768! Intel web site says: "install latest drivers" but on DELL site only version 6.14.10.4814 (30.03.2007) and no solution here.
Can anyone help to instlall drivers from INTEL site? There is "Please use OEM drivers" error. :(

I have the same problem with a Latitude D520. Is there some type of override switch or registry hack that can be used to get the Intel driver to install?

I ran into the same issue with Latitude D620, with the Intel 945GM integrated video. Dell tech support insisted to me that the D620 supports 16x9 resolution for secondary monitors. But I tried multiple driver updates including from Dell's site and from Intel's, to no avail.

It was a hard article for me to skim, I really had to read it in detail. I ended up following just about every instruction included there, all the way until the author talks about native resolutions not displaying because they are disabled in BIOS. I believe this may be the real reason why 16x9 is not available in the list of supported modes for our 16x9 monitors. I followed the instructions there to build a new driver .inf file with a custom resolution of 1592x900, and voila, there it was. I'm missing 8 pixels from my horizontal resolution, but what the hell, I can't tell the difference.
After I finished this I noticed that off the main 945GM support page (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/graphics/945gm) there is a link under "Top Troubleshooting Topics" titled "Unable to use the native resolution." It directs you to _other_ versions of the drivers that supposedly will work: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-028886.htm
