Vijaya,

The only options in the bios for USB are:

USB Emulation:

This field defines how the BIOS, in absence of a USB-aware operating system, handles USB devices. USB emulation is always enabled during POST.

  • Off — USB emulation is on until control is passed to the operating system.

NOTE:
You cannot boot any type of USB device (floppy, hard drive, or memory key) when this field is off.

  • Enabled — USB emulation is always on.

Default setting: Enabled

USB WAKE SUPPORT:

This field allows you to enable USB devices to wake the system from Standby.

  • Off — Do not allow USB devices to wake the system.
  • Enabled — Allow USB devices to wake the system.

Default setting: Off

This feature only works when the AC adapter is connected. If the AC adapter is removed during Standby, the BIOS removes power from all the USB connectors to conserve battery power.

This feature is only supported when running the Windows® XP Media Center Edition operating system.

Robert
