Locating and replacing BIOS chip

After upgrading the CPU on my CSxH from a 500 -> 750 I tried to reflash the bios and I blew it. Now the system wil not post at all. I intevertly miss read a note that was talking about a CPxH using the CPxJ bios and I forced the CPxJ into mine.

I have been told by some that if I can replace BIOS chip with one burned for the CSxH I can get my laptop back. My only other choice is a new motherboard. Dose anyone know the location on the board fro the bios chip and if it is replacable (I do build boards so if it is not Surface mount I can do the job).

Or is there any other way to recover a bad bios back to original.

Dan

The chip is surface mounted. Your best bet is a replacement board.
