IF the system is under warranty,Dell Support can replace it for free as replacement of palmrest is not easy or else you can get a wireless mouse for your notebook.
I guess I'm just cheap. Don't know why someone would want to pay $40 plus shipping for a part that you can get on eBay for $15. If it has to be nice and clean and brand spanking new, that is one thing, but other than that, it makes no sense to me. I buy over 90% of the parts for my repairs on eBay, a lot of them are even new parts, and are much less expensive that the vast majority of other parts suppliers. It all means that I can offer my customers a better price on the repair, and still make a fair profit for myself.
Like I said though, that's just me.
Example... Here is a brand new Inspiron 1525 Touchpad for $21.99, including shipping.

You will probably need to buy a complete palmrest.

Well my problem is that it's not longer under warranty.

Thanks, I was wondering if I could find that part somewhere else than ebay, but I guess it might be harder than I thought.
