I'm sorry. Maybe my question was confusing. Would the system be able to support a total of 16GBs.

The system should support two 4G soDIMMs, yes.

The largest memory stick supported on the M11X according to training documents is 4 gb sticks.  The most the system can support will be 8 gb, not 16 gb.

I am sorry about that

Hello Terry,

That's what I read in my manual as well. The sales rep told me that 16gb is acceptable as well (2 x 8 GB). Has this been attempted before? Thanks!

I have not tested 8 gb sticks on the system myself.  It isn't something that tech support would cover.  So if you installed 8 gb in the system and the system started having problems, tech would suggest removing the 8 gb memory sticks first before continuing troubleshooting.

6-year DCSE here. I have a somewhat equivalent system and I bet it would work.

The system is an early 2011 13.3 MacBook Pro and although Apple specifies it can only handle 8 GB, I just installed 16 GB. The price has come down so far, I would certainly give it a shot.

After installation run the ePSA hardware test after checking POST and checking F2 Setup to see that it is recognized.

Please let us know if this works

I noticed that you have a 32 bit Windows 7 home premium DVD. Does that mean that you have 32 bit installed?? If so, I do not believe that 32 bit Windows operating systems have the capability of utilizing more than 4GB of ram. The Hardware will see  larger amounts of RAM on the Bios level, but Windows will only still see 4GB. If your hardware accepts the additional Ram, you may also want to take the need for a x64 bit Windows OS into consideration. I could be wrong, but historically that has been the case.
