Even with a 64-bit OS, you won't see all four gigs.  The chipset in that system is an Intel 945, which doesn't support memory remapping.  The oldest Intel mobile chipset that does is the 965 - you will never see all four gigs on this system and there's no way to change that fact.

32 bit os installed or 64 bit, to be clear?

32 bit will only see 3.1gigs of ram Period.

Thanks for the answer. I was looking for something like this to verify why I was seeing what I was seeing. Would you happen to know the maximum usable RAM limit? Would it just be the theoretical 32-bit max?
