Hi Fayaz21,

The 'Dell Product Group' team has not tested this system with Windows 8. Windows 8 compatible drivers may not be available on Dell support site. You can refer to the link for the list of all Dell systems tested with Windows 8 http://dell.to/RnDAFu

You may try to install the drivers of Windows 7 in compatibility mode.

  • Download the required drivers from http://dell.to/QjjZDA
  • Right Click the driver installation file and select Properties -- > Compatibility Tab.
  • Select Windows 7 from the list in the following image

  • Click Apply -- > OK
  • Right Click the file and select the 'Run As Administrator' to install the driver

Please reply if you have any questions.

Hi Fayaz21,

Thank you for the response. Since the drivers for Windows 8 are not available for this system, you may try to download and install the drivers from the link mentioned below. It might work. http://dell.to/VDleiA

Hope this helps.

This got the Windows 8.1 audio working on my Dell Inspiron N5010 .

Uninstall the existing audio driver (two of them) that show up in Device Manager.

Reboot

Download, install and run the "Intel(R) Driver Update Utility 2.0"

Link:  www.intel.com/.../detect

Install the drivers it finds.

It indicated that the installations failed, but the audio worked after I rebooted again!
