Pointstick mouse freezes while typing
I have a Latitude E6430 laptop running 64-bit Windows 7. Whenever I type on the keyboard, the mouse cursor freezes in place and stays that way until about a second after I stop typing. This only happens when using the pointstick, not a USB mouse. I've updated to the latest drivers and the problem still persists.
Searching the web for similar issues suggests this may be a deliberate feature intended to keep the touchpad from moving the mouse inadvertently while typing. For people who use the touchpad I suppose that makes a certain amount of sense, but I have the touchpad and its buttons disabled entirely already since I don't use them, and for me this is nothing but an annoyance. If there's a way to disable this behavior I would very much like to know it.

There is a solution how to fix buggy driver and remove freezing.
It was tested on Dell Latitude E7440 with windows 7 x64:
1) Install latest ALPS touchpad driver (e.g. "Input_Driver_323GH_WN_8.1206.101.109_A06").
2) Open "Dell touchpad" utility.
3) Configure touchpad and trackpoint settings.
4) Open Services.msc, disable "Alps HID Monitor" service.
5) Remove file "C:\Program Files\DellTPad\ApMsgFwd.exe"
6) Reboot your system.

Thanks, that's good information. As a test I first tried just killing the ApMsgFwd process, and that worked fine on its own to stop the freezing. The only apparent side effect is that it also appears to disable the ability to turn the touchpad and pointstick on and off with Fn-F5, but the touchpad still works fine if enabled manually through the configuration settings. Still, that's not something I need often, so as far as my purposes go I'm considering this one fixed.
