Polish keyboard

Hi all,

I am considering buying refurbished laptop from Dell outlet site.

Actually I am in UK, so also keyboard will be from UK. In Poland we have a little different keyboard than here. And now I have a question: is there a possibility to 'mount' somehow polish keyboard instead of british one? I am sure, that if I'd like to do that on my own, I will lose warranty.

Just after buying this laptop I am going to install Polish Windows 7 (as student in Poland I have access to MSDN).

I was also thinking about installing Polish version of Windows and installing English version of keyboard, but then I will be missing Polish special characters, so it's not solution.

waiting for reply,

Karol

cheers all

Hi Karol,

You can also change the keyboard settings to Polish (Poland) by entering keyboard layout settings in Control Panel from the below mentioned steps:

1. Click Start, type ‘intl.cpl’ in the Start Search box, and then press enter.

2. On the ‘Keyboards and Language’ tab, click ‘Change keyboards’.

3. Click ‘Add’.

4. Expand the language ‘Polish (Poland)’.

5. Expand “Keyboard list”, click to select the ‘Polish (Poland)’ check box, and then click ‘OK’.

6. In the “Options”, click “View Layout” to compare the layout with the actual keyboard.

7. In the “Default input language” list, click ‘Polish (Poland)’, and then click “OK” two times.

8. In the “Regional and Language Options” dialog box, click “OK”.

Hope this helps. Please reply for any further questions.

Thank you very much.

Probably I will buy laptop on Saturday, few days for shipping to Wales, and then for sure I will check and reply if it works. Actually I am using Dell Inspiron mini with English Windows XP - I checked and I can't try if it works on this system.

thanks again,

Karol
