Power/Battery Status Light

Hi,

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop and as I like to listen to the radio or music at night in the dark I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to turn off the Power/Battery Status Light on the front side of the laptop? It's there to indicate the power state and battery status but it's really bright and I'd like to find a way to turn it off. I already have some software to turn off the LCD display.

Also can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn the down the brightness of the LCD display beyond the bottom level of what you can do with the function keys or power options?
