Problem Connecting Inspiron to LCD TV

Hi,

I recently bought an Inspiron N5010 Laptop. I am trying to connect it to my Sony Bravia TV. When I connect them with a HDMI cable, the TV is detected (Its shown in both the 'screen resolution' page and in ATI Control Center, Also the HDMI Sound output is selected automatically). However, there is no video or sound from the TV. I tried plugging into all 3 HDMI ports but to no avail. The cord's not to blame because I checked it elsewhere.

Can anyone tell me what might be wrong or what I should do? Any Help is much appreciated!

Thanks

Don't forget to select the HDMI Video Input on the tv--Video 1 or  2 or HDMI 1, 2 or 3 etc--depending on your tv. Look at your manual for the tv for more info. You also should check that the computer switches to External Monitor. That's not automatic. There should be a function key-(F1?) with a picture of a monitor or something similar. Check the help file on the computer for that. My new 1764 laptop has the external monitor key F1. There is an icon of a laptop and a monitor.

Umm, Yeah, I did all of those before, but it's still not working. The Cable's not faulty, I tested it before buying.  Maybe all three HDMI ports on the TV are  faulty! Thanks for your help anyway.
