Problem with 4GB memory on Dell latitude D620
Hello! I have a problem with usable ram memory on my laptop. I have 2 memory modules (2x2GB), but operating system (Windows 7x64) see only 3,25Gb. Same situation with BIOS - says that system have 4GB, but usable memory is 3,25GB. BIOS version - A10. Any suggestions to fix the problem? Thanks in advance!

you might be using 32bit windows which can use max of 3.4 Gb of RAM.
Whwen you install 64 bit win 7 then your windows can use full 4 Gb .

Hi,
Welcome to the Community.
The usable Memory may show less then the Memory installed as some portion of the memory is being used by the Hardware & OS Installed on the system.

I agree. It might be possible that you only thought that you are running x64, but really in x86.

This is normal with this system, which does not support the memory remapping needed to enable full 4G support -- it's a hardware issue, not a software one.
