Recently Fixed "LCD Backlight Turning Off" Problem! :)

For some time now, the backlight on my SXGA+ screen on a i8200 would turn off randomly. Sometimes it would stay on for 4 hours straight and other times it would turn off after 5 minutes after turning the computer on. However, with the backlight off, you could still see a faint image if you looked at the right angle or shined a light onto the screen. Also, I could sometimes turn the backlight back on by tapping on or torquing the screen slightly.

I figured I had enough of this so I took the LCD completely apart and reseated all cables and connections. When I got to the inverter connection on the screen that just slides into place without any snap, I noticed it was slightly loose. So I retaped all the connections back up and put the screen back together.

Low and behold! The screen worked perfectly again! All this aggrivation and worry for a lousy loose connection. Oh well.

If any others are having a similar problem, I suggest doing what I did as soon as possible before sending the laptop in for expensive service.
