Regarding Intel Core 2 Duo, how many processors does it contain?

Hi,

I am wondering how many processors does Intel Core 2 Duo contain?  Is it packaged into a single processor or are they 2 separate processors?

Thanks in advance...

It is a single chip with 2 interconnected cores.

Thanx for your prompt response.

In my System Configuration window, inside the Advanced Settings under the Boot tab, I have to choose whether I have 1 or 2 processors (i'm having issues with the video card driver and this is one of the things I have to do in order to fix it) but I still don't know which one to choose.  So since it is a single chip, should I select 1 processor?  thanx for your help!!

If you have a Core 2 Duo CPU,you need to select both cores. You will probably have to go into BIOS set up to enable the second CPU.I am running Vista and both CPU's are shown and enabled with no problems.

But you should select 2.

No you need to select 2 proccessors. In my first reply i said it is a single chip with 2 interconnected cores. You do have 2 CPU's on one chip.

All of the Core 2 Duo CPU's have 2 proccessors on one chip.
