If you're worried about that, you can still return a defective system for replacement during the first 21 days from shipment, or you can upgrade (for a fee) to an onsite warranty.
yep and if you're trying to "remove" the keyboard all together (they can send a Keyboard service kit to replace it btw) then all you need to do is remove the bezel that the power button is on then just 2 screws usually......

I would REALLY suggest as I do with anyone that if you are not happy or you are unsure about your system..........exchange it within that 21 day period......there is a documented issue, thats enough to get L2 approval for an exchange...
Thanks for the info. Just curious, how does the return work? Do they send a carrier to pick up my item? Do I have to pay for shipping? What is the procedure? Im planning to having a replacement instead of just returning it because I really like this model. If I replace my notebook rather than just return it, does the 15% apply to me? I have a defective keyboard
Thank you
You have to call tech support and tell them you want to do a system exchange........they might try to troubleshoot to begin with, either let em try a couple things or just insist that you want to do the exchange if at the very least for your own piece of mind........and that you are taking advantage of the first 21 days after invoice to get a system that doesnt have problems out of the box lol
The procedure is Dell sends you a new exchange system along with return shipping labels...........from there you package up everything that came with the system in the box that your brand new system replacementarrives in.........
From there the instructions to contact Airbourne Express are included in the box and the time it takes for a new sys exg is 5-7 business days from the date of the dispatch...........

If it is not defective and you return it, you pay a 15% restock charge.
