Screen frame and hinge

I bought a Inspiron 6400 this summer and after only 8 months the screen frame is starting to have problems. The frame keeps poping out at the bottom right hinge. I looked around the forum and this seems to happen to a lot of people. I was wondering what the exact course of action to take was since I found people mentioning the problem but no solution to it.

It should be under full 12 months warranty. Have you contacted Dell to see if they would repair it.

Since my problem is not explicitly with the screen hinge but rather with the frame, it's like the bezel and the frame are trying to separate themselves in the corner, the bloke at the dell store kept agruing that it's only an "esthetic" problem and thus is not covered by the basic warranty.... I still need my laptop for 1 month to complete the university year but after that it looks like I'll have to get ready for a lot of arguing with tech support..... I tryed to adjust the screw around the hinge to see if it was loose but everything seems ok on that side...

A freind of mine had his LCD replaced on an Inspiron 5150 because of a scratch on the plastic bezel..

For a scratch to have been covered he probably had the "Total Care" warranty and not just the basic one.

Nope. Standard warranty.
