Setting up btinternet email on Windows 8.1

Please help, I have just bought a new laptop with windows 8.1 only to find out that its not compatible with btinternet email.

I have spent all afternoon and tonight trying to install it as dell support advise and bt's advise but its still not working.

Also, I keep getting timed out on the internet. I've just signed in and getting booted out again, any advise please?

I have had more problems in a week with new laptop than what I have with my Inspiron 1525 in 7 years!! Not 1 problem with it.

Dell support has a lot to be desired! 3 times I have phoned in for help and 3 times I shouldn't have bothered!!

Advice would be greatly appreciated.
