Studio 17 graphics driver issue Please Help!!!

I have a Studio 17 lappy

ATI Mobility HD Radeon 3650

Intel core 2 duo 2.53ghz processor

4gb ram from factory

everything stock standard from factory

running 64 bit windows 7

nearly every time i open the laptop after it was asleep the display driver crashes, and sometimes recovers but often won't. it often goes all pixelated, or blacks out or flashes etc.

i have uninstalled and updated the video driver, i've updates to BIOS to the latest, i've even formatted and reinstalled windows but the problem persists. what can i do??
