Studio 1749 Integrated Webcam

I have spent weeks looking for the proper driver for my Studio 1749 Integrated Webcam.  The driver is not listed on the drivers page for my service tag.  Customer support has been of no help in the three or four contacts I've had with them.  Dell's Webcams help page has a link to a Webcam troubleshooter, which is a dead link.

The camera is working, thanks to a generic Microsoft driver.  The microphone does not work: I have to plug in an external mic in order to record sound or use Skype.

It's a Creative mic, but Creative's website says they do not offer drivers for products installed in Dell computers, and refer back to the Dell website.

When I open Webcam Console, I get a message saying that the driver has not been installed for my camera, and that I must install the driver before continuing.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a Studio 1749 and reformatted and reinstalled new Windows 7 64bit. After hours of searching and trying drivers and software here is what you need to make your webcam work for your Studio 1749 download R244464 driver and R22940 Webcam Software these will work. Extra drivers if you still are having problems after this are and this is for the creative labs intergrated webcam instead although will not work for mine R200491 R213648 drivers and R168730 software.

The R244464 can be found in Zip files of the drivers already installed on your computer disk the R22940 or Mass Storage Controller is in the web site support be sure to switch to the windows and shoul offer 64 bit the the first video driver

After much research I found the dell webcam driver and Creative Webcam Central software to open your webcam on Windows 7 64bit for Dell Studio 1749. I upgraded from Vista 64 bit to Windows 7 64bit and could not find how.. this is how:

You need to download these drivers

LCCH_0330_DRV_LA_1_12_01.exe webcam driver

and Dell R230103 driver.

ddlr48,

Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system? If yes, did you install the Dell System Software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct

Windows 7/8 is supposed to provide the webcam drivers for most Dell computers. If you system needs webcam drivers, go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag, then select your operating system. If your system needs webcam drivers, they'll be listed under Input.

(Windows 8)How to make the webcam work with help from this youtube. You have to open the Camera app first, and then click Settings on the charm bar to see where you can give the app permission to use the webcam.

Try reading...

Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software

You can try this file, also known as Dell Webcam Central.

Create a new unrestricted user account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?

If yes, log out and log back in to your account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?

If no, then the webcam became detached from the motherboard, usually near the webcam

Is your computer is under warranty?

Yes I did recently installed Dell Windows 7 Professional Reinstallation Disc 64 bit. I did Install the chipset driver

Dell drivers and downloads did not have the webcam driver to reinstall as many who have this computer Studio 1749 have found and there are many sights online where they seek an answer.  My answer is the way to make the webcam work again.   Installing the above drivers made my webcam work.  I have the original discs for the operating system (Vista 64 bit) but i upgraded to Windows 7 Professional so my reinstallation discs would not work and i did download the rest of the drivers from Dell Drivers and Downloads but the webcam drivers are not there.   Yes my webcam does work!    My Computer is no longer under warranty as i did not extend the warranty
