Studio xps 16 screen appear blank when press the power button
my studio xps 16 screen appear to be blank and refuses to start up when i powered the machine. I waited and it does nothing, other than maintaining the light on the keyboard and touch sensitive area at the top of the keyboard.... i really need some assistance as im out of the use of a computer.

First check: attach an external monitor. Does it show an image?
Yes --> the backlight on the screen, or the inverter if it's a CCFL screen, has likely failed.
No: Remove the battery, unplug the system, and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Remove and reinstall both memory modules and verify that the LED on the AC adapter comes on before you plug in the notebook end. If it doesn't, replace the adapter. If it does, try powering up again.
