Sun Damage to LCD Monitor Display Colors

Question

Today I took my Inspiron 1420 laptop outside for about 30 minutes to use it.. It was about 80 degrees F. It was too bright to use it in direct sunlight, so i took it into the shade and used it there. When I got back inside, I noticed the screen's colors are now abnormal. All the places that are usually white are now tinted neon blue (such as the background of the google website) and the pinks are now a darker blue.. The computer works fine and normal, its just the colors on the display that are not normal.  I'm assuming the laptop overheated in the sun? I've only had the laptop for about 8 months so I'm surprised it's already damaged...   Does anyone know what the maximum temperature is to take your laptop outside without the heat doing damage? Is there anyway to prevent/fix this problem? Should I send it into Dell? (the warranty is still good) Any information would be helpful... Thank you

How long did you have it in 'direct' dunlight? I took mine outside in the shade today and its still functioning normally.

What does the image look like on an external monitor?

Yeah connect it to another compuer monitor or Tv just to be 100% sure its the screen itself and not an underlying problem.
