The D630 and nVidia GPUs
Hi guys. I have some questions regarding the Latitude D630. I may be getting one, but it has the nVidia GPU. As we all know, the D630 had issues with the nVidia GPU, along with many other laptops from the same time period.
My questions are -
1. How would I be able to tell if the motherboard is a replacement with the updated GPU? I noticed on the lower memory slot, there are revision numbers, and they seem to range from A00 to A03 or 04? What revisions have the updated GPU?
2. If the information above won't be able to determine if the board has been replaced, are there any indicators on the GPU itself that would show it's an updated GPU?
Any help is appreciated regarding this.
Thanks!
-William

It effectively doesn't matter - nVidia never reengineered the chips, so they're all faulty.

Hi William,
Dell Latitude D630 is not manufactured any more. Yes, this system was shipped with nVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M graphics card. You may check under Device Manager, to identify which graphics card is installed on the system. Here are the steps:
The latest version of nVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M graphics card drivers is A07 and is available for download from Dell Website. Click on the link: click on the link: http://dell.to/18NmI2D -> Enter the Service Tag of your system and select the Operating System -> The video driver is listed under 'Video'.
Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.

Ah, I know about the drivers. What I'm asking is what motherboard revisions have the updated GPU chip. I've seen A00, A01, A02 and A03 motherboards so far.
