Tips on removing programs? (I don't know where else to write this)

Hey folks. Here is a list of programs I'm thinking in deleting, but as you can see I'm a bit hesitant about this because I'm afraid of making a mistake and deleting something i'm not supposed to. So I need your help in determinig which programs i could absolutely erase:

Bantec Service Agreement

Cisco EAP-FAST Module

Cisco LEAP Module

Cisco PEAP Module

Complete Care Consumer Service Agreement

Dell DataSafe Online

Dell Dock

Dell Getting Started Guide

Dell Remote Access

EDocs

Google Desktop

Googkel Toolbar for Internet Explorer

Go ToAssist 8.0.0.514

Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager

LoJack Factory Installer

McAfee SecurityCenter

MediaDirect

OutlookAddinSetup

QuickSet

Roxio Creator DE

Viewpoint Media Player

Windows Live Photo Gallery

Windows Live Writer.

As you can see I'm pretty unfamiliar with computers and programs and I have no clue what most of these programs in the list do. To me, almost all of them sound like useless junk and I could absolutely get rid of, but I just need to double check to be sure with help and feedback from more experiened users like you! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:

First of all... it might just sound pedantic, but "delete" is the wrong word to use.

You need to 'uninstall' the programs, rather than deleting them.

Simply deleting the programs (from the 'Program Files' folder) would almost certainly lead to all sorts of problems :emotion-3:

Anyways... you were right to double-check first, because it would be unwise to uninstall a number of the programs you've listed there :emotion-55:

Bantec Service Agreement:   I haven't got a clue what this is for?

Cisco EAP-FAST Module:   I haven't got a clue what this is for?

Cisco LEAP Module:   I haven't got a clue what this is for?

Cisco PEAP Module:   I haven't got a clue what this is for?

Complete Care Consumer Service Agreement:  Can probably be uninstalled - because you can undoubtedly read it online?

Dell DataSafe Online:  An online backup service - which you have x number of months free use of.

Dell Dock:  Up to you.  But I personally find the dock useful.

Dell Getting Started Guide:  You might want to leave this one, if you're new to computers.

Dell Remote Access:  Required if you ever needed to allow Dell tech support to take control of your system, to diagnose/fix problems.

EDocs:  Not sure?

Google Desktop:  Personal choice.

Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer:  Personal choice.

Go To Assist 8.0.0.514:  Up to you.  McAfee support software.

Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager:  Definitely required!

LoJack Factory Installer:  Required (security).

McAfee Security Center:  Best to leave it on, unless you have your own preferred anti virus/anti spyware programs?

Media Direct:  Definitely required!

Outlook Add-in Setup:  It's obviously an add-in of some sort for Microsoft Outlook (email program), but I'm not quite sure what it is specifically?

QuickSet:  Leave it.  Often handy.

Roxio Creator DE:  Up to you, but it's CD/DVD burning software.

Viewpoint Media Player:  Not sure?  You could *probably* get rid of it though, and just use Windows Media Player?

Windows Live Photo Gallery:  Only required if you need to view any of your photos online.

Windows Live Writer:  Up to you.  I've personally never used it.

Ahh, yes! Thank you so much! And yes, uninstall is the word I was looking for!

Just one more question though: Dell DataSafe keeps asking me to log in to get support, but I always ignore it. Since it looks like I would rarely even use it, I thought I might as well 'uninstall' it. You've also said that its availability is limited, and that I may have to pay a fee later for its service, which I don't plan to pay at all. So this could mean I could most definitely uninstall this program, right?
