Have you tried the Widcomm stack?  I am using it and like it better than the Toshiba Stack and Windows Stack.

I've heard of it, but I didn't know how to do it. :-(

I would like to use bluetooth to synch my blackberry, unfortunately the Blackberry software only recognize the native Microsoft stacks. Anyone with information on uninstalling the Toshiba stacks and install the Microsoft.

I have tried to uninstall the Toshiba stacks but Microsoft stacks did not start automatically as i9t should be.

Thanks

Can someone please tell me how to install the Widcomm BT stack? Do I have to uninstall the Toshiba stack first? Help! Thanks.

I am having the same issues with being able to sync my Blackberry wirelessly.  The RIM software will not recognize the Toshiba stack -- Any suggestions?

I just got my E1505, and the same problem, can't uninstall the windcomm, because the drivers aren't available to windows SP2.  Can you help?

Can someone walk me through how to install the WID Com stack?  I am having a lot of problems with the Toshiba stack and the windows stack is not much better.  Thanks!

Blackberry's support page (KB-04132) indicates explicitly that WIDCOMM and other 3rd party drivers are NOT supported.   You MUST have the original Microsoft BlueTooth Stack.   "If the My Bluetooth Places window appears, then you are running third-party Bluetooth software (for example, WIDCOMM). To meet the system requirements, remove this software. In order to have third-party Bluetooth software removed properly, contact the software manufacturer."

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 9400 with the "Dell 355 BT module" and WIDCOMM drivers stack.  It has the same problems you are reading about here.   In the Blackberry Desktop Mgr the "Enable Bluetooth" options are greyed out.

Voice Gateway works, however Active Sync & using Bluetooth to get to the phone's EDGE/GPRS modem functions does not work.   Connecting the USB cable from the PC to the phone allows the EDGE/GPRS modem to work fine.

What we need to know is how to FORCE the Microsoft XP Bluetooth software stack to load.

This is my situation too. Just got a Dell Latitude D630 and a BlackBerry 8830 (Verizon). The BB Desktop Manager software has the Enable Bluetooth support option grayed out. My Dell is running the Toshiba BT stack. I understand that the BB DTM software requires the native XPSP2 stack. How do I switch to that stack? Please advise, this is driving me batty!

Dlipetz, it's a real pain, isn't it.    I spent 1+ week researching the whole thing.

I had WIDCOMM stack and not Toshiba, but the same effect of grayed out buttons and not workng correctly.    Toshiba has some downloadable software tools on their web-site to turn off your BT device and unload the stack.  Key issue is I could not find away to force the stack back to MS's stack.

Finally, I unloaded the device and related drivers in Device Mgr.  Then I went out and bought a "cheap" $15 BT USB dongle, that did not have Broadcomm/WIDCOMM nor Toshiba chips in it and plugged it into the PC.  The MS BT stack immediately loaded and everything works fine now.

Thanks for your response.

I've got 2 BT dongles laying around but refuse to use them. I specified the internal BT adapter just so I wouldn't have to carry all these extra odds and ends. It works fine with Microsoft ActiveSync to sync to my WM5 Smartphone. I'll use the USB cable with the BB until an answer can be found.

Dell has published a Journal (ID 07187CC0MK) which addresses removing the Toshiba stack and replacing it with the XP SP2 stack for the Dell 350 Bluetooth adapter. Unfortunately, the Journal does not apply to my Dell Latitude D630 which has the Dell 360 Bluetooth adapter.

Every time I uninstall the drivers, Device Manager sees an unknown USB device and will not assign any Bluetooth drivers to it. I'm still searching for an answer. The folks at Dell barely understand my question, but I will keep pounding away at it.
