Hi radhakrishnamurty,

We understand that you want to delete the Touchpad driver from the system. You can follow the steps below

1) Go to start menu then type Device manager and click on device manager
2) Then search for Mice and other pointing device
3) click on the arrow beside it
4) Right click on the touchpad driver and uninstall it and restart the system

However, after restarting the system the native driver for the touchpad will be back again.

Dear Promila P

I did not find my 'Username' to click on to send you the message as you suggested. So, I am writing it here.

Thank you very much for your response.
My Dell Laptop Vostro 1520 was stolen and got back. Since The thief meddled with it, we had to reinstall everything. But if I remember correct, there is a particular order in which that installation was to be done as we learnt from our earlier experience when Dell staff used to help us with teething problems we had with getting to know working with the new laptop.
After reinstallation my problem with touch pad and key board started. I use Windows 7.
The problem is like this:  If key board works, touch pad doesn't work. If touch pad works, key board doesn't work. Some times the pointer arrow moves only horizontally in a line and sometimes only vertically. Some times both touchpad and key board work properly, some times (mostly) both don't work. The problems is odd - inconsistancy in working.  If I introduce a CD it doesn't open.  I am using an external mouse when key board works without any problem.
I hope I stated my problem clearly.
The Service Tag of my Laptop is: (A dmin Note : Removed Service Tag as per Dell Privacy Policy)

[I may add the following just for information sake.
After browsing the net over long period, I came across SEBYOUNG using the same brand Lap top posting  the same problem in the Laptop computer forums on 23 Aug 2012.]

Yours Sincerely
