USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller issue
On my Inspiron 17R SE 7720 out of the blue my usb keyboard/mouse stopped working. I traced it to the USB host controller:
Device Manager shows a Yellow warning triangle :- USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller
Properties shows that this device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
So I tried updating the driver, didn't help. Then I deleted the driver (big mistake). Now I can't figure out how to reinstall driver. In the control panel devices, all that is now listed is Intel USB 3.0 extensible host controller -0100 (Microsoft) instead.
Where can I find the correct driver, and how do I reinstall? I've downloaded all relevant updates from dell for my service tag, but doesn't seem to help...

Hi, I came on this forum with the same problem. But I think mine was caused by me deleting the USB drivers for my old HTC phone and this somehow has caused all the USB drivers for the laptop to not work.
My error code is 39!!!
Will wait for replies to your thread before I start my own
