USB error code 39

Question

hope someone can help me with this one. i have a inspiron 600m laptop and my USB just stoped working, when i go into device manager i get 4 errors under universal serial bus controllers.Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) i tryed to update my drivers, tryed repairing with my XP disc and nothing.

boot to safe mode, go to device manager, remove all USB Root Hubs, then reboot into normal mode & let them re-detect. Then re-connect USB device & see if it detects.
