USB printer does not work on Port Replicator
I've tried the following to no avail:
I've uninstalled and resinstalled the printer drrivers.
I've deleted all of the USB ports in Device Manager and I've rebooted and let Widows redetect and reinstall all of the USB ports. I tired to delete the printer but it won't delete.
I've manually loaded the drivers for the "unknown device" that is listed in the Device Manager.
I've deleted the unknown USB device, unplugged the printer USB cable, rebooted, plugged the USB cable back in and it still doesn't recognize the printer.
My USB mouse works fine when it's plugged into the port replicator, so it appears the port replicator's staion's USB ports do work. However, if I plug all three of my USB devices (my printer, mouse and digital camera dock) into the USB ports on the docking station, the computer will not boot. There definately seems to be a problem with the USB ports on the port replicator. I wondered if it was a power issue. I tried using a non powered USB hub and everything works when all three USB devices are plugged into the hub. BTW- The other ports suchs as VGA and PS2 work fine. Unfortunately the port replicator physically blocks access to the notebook's USB ports, so I have to be able to use the USB ports on the docking station. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Is there a BIOS update available that might solve this poblem?
Thanks,
Steve Smith
