Unable to enable Bluetooth adapter.

my laptop is Dell Vostro 1310 with windows vista home basic (32 bit).

When I switch on the wireless switch (located at the side of the laptop) I see the wireless light (LED) switch on but the bluetooth light is NOT on. Earlier it used to switch on both the lights using the switch.
I am unable to connect to my mobile phone using bluetooth. Earlier I was able to do so.

I've tried the following
1) Tried to hunt for a menu item which would say "Enable bluetooth adapter" but could not find any.
2) Uninstalled the bluetooth driver (Dell wireless 360 bluetooth module) and reinstalled it using the procedure mentioned at the dell support site. The driver gets installed properly and I can see the drivers using the Device Manager. It says "Device is working properly". But still the bluetooth light is off and I am unable to have bluetooth connectivity with my phone.

3) I've also shutdown the system, waited for more than a minute, rebooted and installed the drivers. Still it does not work.

Can anybody please help me out?
