Upgrading Dell XPS M1530 Processor (compatibility issues)
I plan on upgrading my Dell XPS M1530. I am upgrading the RAM from 3GB to 4GB, the hard drive from 250GB to 750GB, and the processor. I have the RAM and hard drive ordered, however I am having difficulties choosing a processor. I currently have an Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5750 @2.00GHZ with a 2MB cache. According to CPU-Z I have a Intel PM965 chipset Revision C0. I have a Intel 82801HBM (ICH8-ME) revision B0 southbridge. I am running Dell BIOS A09, (I cannot upgrade to A12) and Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1. I would like to know whate proccessors are compatible with this mainboard, preferably the best processor my laptop can power. If you need any more information or clarification, please let me know and I will be glad to provide it.

Any of the 800 MHz bus Core 2 Duo CPU mobiles will work -- except for the Extreme Editions. The 1066 MHz bus CPUs won't work - nor will any core i CPUs.

Will the intel T9500 work even though my current processor is Merom and the T9500 is a Penryn? The specific processor I was planning on purchasing is
