Using a Mini-PCIe SSD with a Studio XPS 13

I've been poking around, and I want to add a Mini-PCIe SSD to my Studio XPS 13. According to the online Service Manual, there are 2 full size Mini-Card slots, and one half size, which is currently holding my 1515 Wireless N card. I haven't opened it to look yet, but I'm guessing one of the full size slots is housing the Bluetooth module.

I'd like to add something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820609406

...but according to the service manual:

The types of Mini-Cards supported are:

  • Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) — Half Mini-Card
  • Mobile broadband or Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) — Full Mini-Card
  • Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) or Internal Card with Bluetooth® Wireless Technology — Full Mini-Card

So I have two questions - will I actually be able to install this card? And if so, will I be able to boot from it? I'm kind of hoping to have the SSD as an operating system drive, and then use the 320GB SATA drive for storage.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd like to know the answer to those questions as well. Has anyone tried this?

UPDATE: I went ahead and purchased the 16GB version of the part you posted (FEM16GFDL). Did not work in either the WWAN slot or the WPAN/Bluetooth slot. Windows 7 would not detect the device at all. :emotion-6:
