Thanks for the post! From what you’re describing this sounds like a hardware issue. Before opening the system to check cabling though I would first recommend confirming the camera hardware is enabled inside the systems BIOS. This can be performed from the F2 boot menu at start up, then navigating to Advanced >> System configuration >> Camera, check: [Enabled]
For details on removing / checking camera cabling on this system please see page 10 of the service manual (linked below).
