Vostro A860 CPU Upgrade
Hi I have a Vostro A860 with intel celeron 2.13ghz. Is it possible to upgrade the CPU to T587. Does the A860's motherboard accept both CPU's or there are different motherboards for every CPU?

It should be supported (assuming you mean the T5870) but since Dell doesn't sell that system with the CPU you want, it's not guaranteed. Upgrading the CPU also voids your warranty if that's a consideration.

Warranty is not an issue at this point.....So if i manage to find a T5870, say for example one which used to be on a vostro 1510, it should be ok?

Hi, just to let you know. I have upgraded the A860 to a T7500 and works a treat. :)
