WWAN 5530 driver issue.
Hi all, hoping someone can point me in the right direction...
I need a driver for wwan 5530.
To run on Dell Inspiron 1720 running win 7 64 bit.
All the ones i've found and tried say...
"error 23000. Authentication failed. The Dell wireless 5530 HSPA Mobile broadband mini-card cannot be installed on this computer. Please contact the Dell support for further assistance". I even unpacked the installer and directed a manual install at the unpacked files to which I get... "data of this type is not supported".

Depends on what country you are in and which ISP provides the cellular service aka Vodaphone, Sprint, Verizon etc. Must be installed as administrator with Compatibility mode for Vista SP2. 5530 is NOT listed as a model that came with this Dell.

The wwan 5530 works on models not included in the 'allowed' list that is in the driver installer though.
Is there no generic driver I can download that does not include Dells authenticate system?
