What the? My computer has 256mb RAM?

Question

I have a Inspiron 9100 3.2 ghz P4, 512mb RAM (supposedly), mbR9700, and 60GB HD. I seem this is very weird and a little sketchy. When I ran Omega Drivers, and used the Radlinker, it said that I had 256 mb RAM when I purchased 512mb RAM with the laptop. Curious, I went into my Dell Setup when I booted the computer. It said that I had 512mb RAM. I think this is very suspicious, does anybody have something similar happen to them or know what to do about it? try this: start>run & type in dxdiag >ok on the system page you should see how much RAM is seen by Windows.

If you went into the setup screen and it said you have 512mb, then you have 512mb.

I totally agree with your sentiment but the OP seemed to want another utility to confirm that he did indeed have 512MB of RAM.

bacillus, don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to contradict you or anything. Just assuring the OP that what is stated in the system setup is what they have. I'm sure your method would work just as well.
