D/Bay External Media Bay Module
The D800 has a D/Bay expansion slot (powered USB connection) for the connection of the optional D/Bay module. The D/Bay provides the ability to attach any D-series modular bay device (except for the 2nd battery) externally, adding a third drive to the system. Any device in the D/Bay can be used as a bootable device. To attach the D/Bay to the Latitude D800, add the D-series media device to the D/Bay, then attach the D/Bay's cable to the D/Bay connection on the D800:

So in essence, any D-series modular bay device (cdrom, secondary hd, dvd drive, ect) that can be used in the system media bay can be used with the D/Bay expansion bay. Except the secondary battery, that will not work.

Yes, I've read that before, but where can I find descriptions, part #s, etc.? I've tried searching the Dell site for 'D-series' and 'modular bay' and 'D/Bay', all o avail.
Is there a list of "D-series modular bay devices" on the Dell site or elsewhere?
No, there is no central list of D-series devices.
But here is some info on the devices for the D800 system.
You can purchase additional devices from Dell Spare Parts.
