Hi OlyRIO,

What happens when you try to connect to WiFi. Do you get any error message? Is your wired connection working fine?

OlyRIO,

Please continue with DELL-Shrikanth G

When you installed the operating system, did you install the Dell System Software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Start with the Dell System Software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.

OlyRIO,

I do not see a Dell System Software. Install the chipset drivers first, it knows what is attached to your system.

Try this exact order...

Intel Chipset Driver

Intel Management Engine Interface Driver

Realtek RTS5179 Card Reader Driver

Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver

Then download and install...

Realtek LAN RTL8106E Ethernet Controller Driver

Go to Dell Warranty Status enter your service tag, click on original configuration. Look and see which wireless adapter is installed. Then go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag, select your operating system, under network, download and install the drivers for your wireless adapter.

Then download and install Dell QuickSet Application

Places to look to see if your Connection is enabled

If you have any problems with connecting, then post back and DELL-Shrikanth Gwill be able to assist you. He has better resources to help get this corrected.

So i reinstalled the windows and installed the drivers in the correct order, and nothing happened.
I did notice something though, all drivers installed without a problem, but when i finished installing the wi-fi driver i got the software might be unsuccessfully installed, and two options:
install  using recommended settings;
This program installed correctly.
What should i do?

OlyRIO,

Does the adapter work?

Did you look to see if your Connection is enabled?

Rick,

I enabled my connections everywhere,yet wi-fi doesn't work.
What could possibly be wrong?

OlyRIO,

Sorry for the delay, work.

Let's see if your wireless adapter is recognized. Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER and post the information back here.

What virus program and firewall are you using?

What do you see when you to...

Start, control panel, network and sharing center. Is there any connections listed there? Can you provide a screenshot of this area?

Manage wireless networks, remove all the wireless networks listed there.

OlyRIO,

I see you have 2 networks listed.

Start, control panel, network and sharing center, change adapter settings, right click on local connection, left click properties, left click sharing. Uncheck the box, allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet Connection

OlyRIO,

Since I still don't see the wireless adapter you have, try this...

Download the following drivers and save them to your desktop.

***SPECIAL NOTE*** THE ADAPTERS LISTED BELOW WILL ONLY CONNECT ON 2.4GHz ONLY

Dell Wireless 1704 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth Driver

Dell Wireless 1705 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth Driver

After you save the drivers to your desktop, make a system restore point.

Start, control panel, device manager, network adapters, right click on your wireless adapter (It will be either Dell Wireless 1705 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHZ) or Dell Wireless 1704 WLAN Half Mini-Card), left click uninstall. Tell it to remove the software and drivers.

Restart your computer. When you login, the new hardware wizard will try to install the adapter but fail. Install the drivers for the wireless adapter you removed.

Try these tweaks....

Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your network adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

(If you have the Dell Wireless 1704 WLAN Half Mini-Card...

Click on Advanced, look for Antenna Diversity. Change the Antenna Diversity from Auto to Aux.

Go to start > device manager > advanced > bandwidth capability > change to 20/40mhz)

Go to the power options, and changed the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.

The 1705 wi-fi driver can't be installed,it says it doesn't fit my current platform(although i have win 7 64-bit)

Also,i don't have a wireless card in my network devices, but i do have an unknown device in my other devices.
