XPS 15 (9550) Premier Color 'Application only supports authentic Dell devices'
Hi
Trying to get rid of the Premier Color memory hogging issue by installing latest driver. Intel driver updated ok, but getting the error 'Application only supports authentic Dell devices' when I try and install the Premier Color update (Software-Images_Application_RJ00H_WN32_2.0.199_A00.exe)
Install failure report

The problem, though, is that some of us can't install the.update, as it reports non-authentic Dell hardware.

Does anyone from Dell ever read these posts?
Dell Premier Color continues to be a memory hog, running away with several Gig of memory before crashing. The update doesn't work... I spent a bloody fortune on a top of the range laptop.. get it sorted!
Please!

Hi,
On your XPS 9550 do you have the FHD or the UHD display? As the driver you are trying to install is only compatible with UHD displays

For me, the FHD display. I have removed the stock Win10 Home and installed Win10 pro myself, does this matter?
Sorry for my poor English.:emotion-5:

I have the XPS15 9550 with 4K display and had same problem with memory with Dell premier color.
It used few GB of memory and it used CPU as well causing a short duration of battery. After driver update it use no more than 4 MB of ram and no CPU anymore and my battery lasts much more than before.

Io had same error message installing dell premier color and I've found workaround.
I unzipped with the 7zip tool the file "Software-Images_Application_RJ00H_WN32_2.0.199_A00.EXE" downloaded form Dell website then I executed the SETUP.EXE file extracted. It worked for me.

The version of Windows doesn't matter but as you have the FHD screen that driver won't work for you. The PremierColor driver is only compatible with UHD screens

I'm looking into this for you as it should be fine on the 4K screen. Can you PM me your service tag so I can take a look at the specs in case there's another reason it's not installing for you

Yes. 5510. I hate this laptop. I've had it for a year and no end of issues.
