XPS Gen 2 - CPU Question

Hello.

I have recently ordered a Dell XPS Gen 2 with a 2 ghz P-M processor.  I didnt think it was worth an extra 300 hundred dollars to obtain the "2.13" M770 processor. But now I am feeling guilty about not going "all the way".

My question is, will I be able to upgrade the laptop's processor in the future?  Lets say that the Pentium M reaches the 3 ghz level.  Will I be able to use my current exisiting motherboard and expand accordingly, or is this highly unlike due to the likely newer power demands.  And...does the M760 (2 ghz) model and the M770 (2.13 ghz) use the same motherboard?  Meaning that I could swap for the better one in the future?

Sorry about my lack of knowledge.  Any help is appreciated :smileyhappy:

Sincerely,

kp

This may be a silly question but I wanted clarity.

Why did they change the XPS laptop from a 3.X HT proc to a pentium M?

Im not saying either one is better bc I really dont know but was it a heat/proc issue?
