XPS L501x configuration

Hi,

I have a dell Laptop XPS L501x and I need to reinstall Windows 7. But the Windows 7 installation not detecting Network Card, Wireless Card, USB port, DisplayCard etc. Can anyone please tell me the XPS L501x configuration so that I can install the driver for the above hardware from dell support site. There are multiple drivers mentioned in Dell driver site, basically I want to know whether I need to install all the drivers mentioned for a hardware or not.

I checked Dell support site with service tag, but it give Part numbers and there is no detail about what this part number represents.

Thanks for you help.

regards,

Jobin

Hi Jobin,

You did great!

For Unknown device, we need to know the device ID to install the drivers for  that particular Unknown device.

Follow below steps to check Device ID:

  • Click Start.
  • Click Search and type Run and type devmgmt.msc.
  • Unknown devices would be listed as such and marked out with a yellow question mark.
  • Select the unknown device and right click to access Properties.
  • In the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id from the drop down.
  • Post back with the Device ID.

Awaiting your response!

Hi Jobin,

To install the drivers, enter the service tag of the computer in the box and hit Submit. In the next page select the Operating system as windows 7. Now, the page would display the drivers for your computer. Install the drivers in the same order given in the below link.

Refer the following link which has the steps to install the drivers in correct order:

If you still want me to help you with the correct drivers,  Kindly private message me the service tag of the computer so that I can take it further from here. To private message the service tag click my User name and click Start conversation.

Awaiting your response!

Hi Rajesh,

I installed all the drivers and it worked fine. But I could see one unrecognized device in device manager (Device Manager -->  Other Devices). Don't know what driver I need to install the for that.

Thanks for your help.

Jobin
