Hi,

Windows 8 uses secure boot for better security of the system and this feature can only function if system has UEFI BIOS. Your system has this feature, however, you need to ensure that it is enabled:

  • Restart your system and keep tapping 'F2' as soon as the Dell logo appears.
  • The system should enter BIOS.
  • Go to 'Advanced' using arrow keys and go to 'Boot Configuration'.
  • Make sure 'UEFI boot' is enabled.
  • Press 'F10' for any changes to get saved in BIOS.

As far as BIOS update is concerned, our website is upgrading and it should be up and running soon. Once it is working again, you can update the BIOS from the link: http://dell.to/VNIYG3

Note: The AC adapter should be connected and the battery should be at least 10% charged. Please disconnect all the external devices connected to the system before updating the BIOS. Your system will restart automatically while updating the BIOS.

Please reply in case you have any further questions.

I have installed the last version and I can't find the 'Boot Configuration' option in the 'Advance' section. Are you sure that is posible?

Hi jaimeabm,

The latest BIOS that you updated is Windows 8 compatible. However, I have checked that 'Boot Configuration' option is not available for this system model. The same might be available for this system in future.

Please reply for any further questions.
