XPS Laptops: How do you clean your speakers?

I'm having an issue with small specks of dust and other materials that are stuck in the holes of the speakerboard on my XPS M1530 (immediately in front of the media controls). I know this isn't really a problem on the Inspirons, because the silver colour really conceals any hint of dust or crumbs, but it's really noticeable with a black speakerboard.

Does anyone know how I can clean these specks of dust from the holes of my speakerboard? Vacuuming doesn't seem to work. The Inspiron appears to have a detachable piece on the speakerboard so that you can clean the speakers, but I don't think it's detachable on the XPS.

- Thanks!

Compressed air.  Pick it up at any local computer store.

Using compressed air to clean/clear laptop speakers, is not a good idea (IMO) :smileysurprised:

That would blow the dust particles into the laptop, which could cause overheating problems later!

I personally use a hoover, with a suitable attachment (a crevice tool, or a small brush).

But you can buy small/mini battery powered or USB powered hoovers, specifically intended for (i.e.) cleaning PC/laptop keyboards though.

Here's one example. Here's another. And another.

As you can see... they're usually as cheap as chips, and would be a much better idea (IMO) for cleaning laptop speakers, than a can of compressed air.

I agree compressed air is not a good idea. The hoovers are a better job.
