Either adapter should work, but if two adapters have produced the same error, the problem is with the mainboard.

Thanks for your prompt answer, the problem is only with the 90 Wattas adapter. That's why I want to know if what I have is a compatible adapter.

And also if for the 9 cell battery, I can use the original adapter (65 Watts) without problem.

Thanks,

Lemicu

The only real difference as far as the battery is concerned is that it will take longer to charge with the 65W adapter.  If it shipped with the system, the adapter should be fine.

LemicuI have been using my 65Watt mains charger with my 9 cell battery from day 1 and that is over 25 months 24/7.

Try your 65watt charger on your 9 cell battery. The original Dell ID for the 9 cell battery is DELL WR0537  (Unique ID    218SanyoDELL WR0537)

Good luck

Jack,

Thanks for your answer.

When I bought the battery I bought the power supply (90 W AC Model No. PA 1900 02D) with two purposes, one to power the battery and second to have a spare power supply.

The use with the battery is OK, but now I want to use it as spare. I called DELL SUPPORT Middle East (I'm in Israel and the suppor is in Greece). They have not been very cooperative and told me that this charger can damage the unit (I guess that he was trying to get rid of me).

Regards,

Lemicu
