Was looking into it but don't think it can be done..
I know the 1730 with dual 8800gtx's (nice) is on a caddy and it just slots into motherboard. The layout is completely different as the caddy also has fans. It's the same for the 86/8700 as well.
Anyway the 7950GTX is better than the 86/8700. But I'd love to have the option of dual 8800gtx's for the XPS1710.

The 7950GTX still has a lot of life left. It is much faster than a single NVIDIA 86m/87m as they only have a 128bit bus.
