XPS17 Touchpad settings in Windows 7? PLEASE HELP!
My touchpad is getting extremely annoying with how sensitive it is. I swear I don't have my hands anywhere near the pad, and it thinks I click or swipe, or whatever...it's annoying. I can't type anything without having to go back and delete, retype, etc.
WHERE ARE THE SETTINGS? Don't send me to the mouse settings in the control panel, the Touchpad setting tab doesn't exist on this machine. So how do I change it? Better yet...can I disable all the click, and gestures, and only use it to move the pointer? That would be the best solution.
Thanks in advance!

Hi sfdc9789,
Please update the synatics touchpad driver using the link below.
http://dell.to/16rmg8X
Once the driver is updated, try changing the synatics settings and check if the touchpad is working properly.

Thank you! Sooo much better. Found the "flick" setting too, that was also an annoying feature. :)

I have the same problem, although when I first bought the laptop, I managed to turn off the touchpad click. Suddenly, its activated again. I use Windows 7.
I downloaded as you instructed, but still cannot change the touchpad settings

I'm havingstration the same fru.....see it just jumped! the same frustraton with the touchpad on my Inspiron 17R SE 7720. i've installed the drivers from both links posted, but have no idea where to find this synatic ? that i'm to change? the only way i can locate anything related to the touchpad is to go to the "device manager"...i see nothing relating to settings i can change. please help. its quite frustrating trying to type anything on my laptop, anytime my palm nears the touchpad, my typing deletes, ;and the program i was in dissapears! hardly makes having a laptop worth a damn!
