Hi Noash,

Welcome to the Community,

Which application are you trying to use to back up your data? If its an online back up application, try booting the system to safe mode with networking, so that your system is able to access internet.

If it does not work, use an external HDD or flash drive  and manually copy the files which you want to save.

For further help please post your system model number along with Windows operating system.

Thank You

Hi there,

I want to use "Backup and restore" function in my laptop while using it in a safe mode with networking. But i guess its not functioning in safe mode. My laptop is Dell inspiron N 5010  and i m using windows 7.

I have a problem that when i start my laptop in normal mode, after a 30 sec a blue window appears and says due to some unexpected error windows has stopped working and the it again restart my lap top.

Now i m working in safe mode with networking , planning to reboot the system but in advance reboot I cant find an option of repair my computer.

is there any solution to my problem, as i m searching internet like a mad cow.

P.s I run the diagnostic test as well, it was ok with no error codes.

Thanx

No ash

Hi Noash,

If you don't see the Repair my computer option under advanced boot option or F8 screen, that means the recovery partion may have gone bad. Since the back up and restore option is not working, manually copy the files which you want to save into a flash drive or external HDD while in safe mode. Once you save all the files you need, you can reinstall the operating system using the Windows Dvd.

For help to Manually reinstall Windows use the link below and follow step 4 after backing up all the files you need:
