bluetooth not visible in bios

we have a latitude d600 with dell bluetooth adapter installed which was working fine up till now. Suddenly it no longer works, the bluetooth led stays on but the bluetooth software icon has gone to red. In the system bios, the bluetooth adapter is showing as "not installed".

Is this likely to be a hardware failure or perhaps simply a loose connection? We have seen this on a few d600 latitudes.

Hello p_littlewood,

Welcome to the Dell Community Forum,

Have you tried the Fn+F2 key function? If so you may want to try to reseat it. Hope this helps

Thanks,

Yes I've tried the FN+F2 combination with no luck.  I will attempt to reseat the device. Is this a design fault as we are experiencing the problem on many of the same models with Bluetooth adapters?

Do a search for bluetooth in this forum.
- You will find there have been quite a few customers (like myself!) who have experienced the same problem.

I had the exact same symptoms, and had to have the motherboard and bluetooth board replaced twice by Dell.

Has bluetooth ever worked?
- Mine did then stopped.

If it has never worked, you might be unlucky in having a laptop supplied without the daughterboard installed

We ordered several D600s, and some were supplied with and some without (someone made a ordering mistake or Dell supplied wrong models - still don't know)

All of the laptops we've had problems with did work at one time but have one by one stopped working. I am uncertain whether the bluetooth board needs to be reseated or we have a hardware failure.
