The 66 watt battery came out in the C640, and has a grey top. They are sold for the earlier models, but you need to update the Bios so it will charge correctly.
Update the bios to what? I have one of the newest versions. Can you explain to me which bios version exactly will solve this problem? Cause I can't find anything about this tread.......

One of, or THE newest? That is what he means. If you have the latest bios revision, don't worry about. Its another problem, other than BIOS.
I meant have the latest one. A lot of people never update it, and then put in the bigger battery. Then they have charging problems. Some people have recieved a Bios update with the new battery. Are you able to test the battery in another machine ?
Well, it's definitely not the bios. Looked something strange to me, ' cause, Dell is not mentioning the A23 bios update as an update for an batterie problem. Anyway, I tried the A23 bios, instead of my A20 bios, and it's the same...............
Strange! Maybe they sent me the same batterie back as a replacement...........Or! This batterie won't work at all in this machine.
